The Official D23 Expo Convention Hotel List Is Out

Below are images of the 2017 D23 Expo hotel list. This list is made up of Anaheim Convention Center area hotels that are offering "convention" or "group" rates to D23 Expo attendees. This year there are 22 hotels offering special Expo prices.  These prices do not include ticket or Expo admission and there are many other hotels to choose from.
To book these rates you must first purchase a D23 Expo ticket, and then contact D23 using the information provided to you in your ticket receipt email. If you would like to use a Travel Agent to book a "Room and Park Ticket" package or a resort not listed below we highly encourage you to contact our friends at Pirate and Mermaid Vacations.
*Please note that while Travel Agents can book convention priced rooms for clients, they will not be paid by D23 or the hotel they are booking.

Below you will find maps to help you see how far from the Anaheim Convention Center (Blue Flag) each hotel on the list is.

2017 D23 Expo Multi-Day and D23 Member Ticket Prices Are Out

2017 D23 Expo Multi-Day and Gold D23 Member ticket prices are out, and those familiar with D23's previous Expo pricing will notice a big change. First let's check out the 2017 price matrix, then we can discuss changes in release and pricing.

Please remember to purchase the 2017 "D23 Member" tickets you will need a Gold D23 Membership.

The Changes
Now let's discuss the changes. The most major change in pricing is the change in the matrix. In the past D23 would release 3 price matrices. The first was "Early Bird" which would run from release until the end of that year, then "Advanced" which would run from the start of Expo year until about a month prior to Expo and finally for the last month and at the door there would be "Expo Pricing" also known as non discounted.  In  2017's pricing the "Early Bird" option has been completely removed.
Pricing wise if you compare "Advanced" to "Advanced" between 2017  and 2015 there is actually a price drop for D23 members. Children's non member pricing has gone up slightly.

Answers To Frequently Asked D23 Expo Questions

Please remember the below answers are based on official information and experience. Out of respect for Disney and D23 we will not be telling people how to "work the system."

When will I get my tickets?

D23 Expo tickets originally mailed in early July the year of the Expo when it was held in mid-August. With the Expo moving to July in 2017, following the previous years mailing pattern, early June 2017 to US residents would make sense.
Tickets are not mailed outside of the U.S. so for those visiting from other countries you will need to pick your tickets up at Will Call at the Convention Center. (Will Call hours will be released closer to the Expo.)
Cast Member tickets usually ship around the same time as General Admission tickets, if not a bit before hand.

Do I need to be a D23 Gold Member to buy Expo Tickets?

No. But you do need to be a Gold D23 member to take advantage of any yet to be announced D23 Gold member perks.

Will tickets sell out?

Sorcerer Level tickets will sell out the day they are released. General Admission Tickets usually don't sell out until closer to the Expo. Usually "Saturday only tickets" are the first General Admission ticket type to sell out.

Is there an Expo discount on Disneyland tickets?
Expo attendees in the past have received a link to discount group sales park tickets. These tickets must be purchased through the link in the Expo Ticket invoice's email and must be ordered by a certain time. Pricing and order by information will be available once tickets are released.

If I am a D23 Gold Member what do I need to take to the Expo?

EVERYONE in attendance should have a photo I.D. D23 Gold Members should also have their current and up to date D23 Membership card with them. (I usually put mine in my lanyard with my Expo Ticket to make it easier to find!)

Where should I stay?
When tickets are released D23 will release a list of "preferred" hotels which will offer Expo rates. You can also contact our friends at Pirate and Mermaid Vacations to help you book and plan your stay.

When can I see the full Expo schedule?

The full schedule is usually released several WEEKS before the Expo. Yes you read that correctly. There will be random guest or pavilion announcements released prior to that (and we try and keep an Excel sheet going on Google Docs and a Word File to help keep track of that information) but the complete schedule is usually announced rather last minute to avoid issues with guests having to pull out of presentations.

Where can I see the full Expo schedule? When it is released D23 will post it on their website.

Are the lines at the Expo bad?
Like all conventions, yes lines can be long. There are basically three types of line at the Expo, entry, presentation and shopping.
  • Entry Lines: While the 2015 Expo group did not do a splendid job the first morning of Expo, they worked hard to correct the issues that were seen with entry into the complex Saturday and Sunday morning. If you have a concern about how the Expo's line system was handled we encourage you to email D23 Member Services with an explanation of your experience in 2015 and and suggestions or requests you may have to try and help prevent this issue from reoccurring in 2017.
  • Presentation Lines: Presentation line length varies by the presentation. some presentations offer "StagePass" which is like a FastPass. They are distributed in the main show floor area, and per D23 "StagePass allows guests a guaranteed seat at select sessions at D23 Expo. StagePass tickets are very limited and are offered at no additional charge."
  • Shopping Lines: Shopping lines are probably some of the worst lines at the Expo. There were points during the 2015 Expo that the Disney Store line was 3-5 hours long. In 2015 D23 introduced StorePass which "was introduced at select D23 Expo locations in 2015 in an effort to minimize wait times for our guests." Information on 2017 StorePass has not yet been released.
Can I take a chair to use in the lines?
No. You can not take a chair to the Convention Center. You can though take a 3 footed chair cane if you have mobility issues.

Can I take food into the convention?
Per D23 "No outside food, beverages, or coolers are allowed at D23 Expo. However, exceptions will be made for attendees with special dietary needs, including food allergies and baby food/formula. Food and Beverage options will be available on site. Stay tuned for more details."

Can I rent a stroller or wheelchair?
Per D23 "Strollers and wheelchairs are not available for rent. If you are bringing a stroller and would like to attend a seminar or presentation, there will be designated areas for parking your stroller."
From experience the crowds can get a bit out of control making it hard to use a stroller, so if you can "baby carry" you may want to leave the stroller in the car or hotel room.

Can I get a CM Ticket Hook Up?
"D23 Members, Expo Fans and Attendees" does not support using CMs and their hard work for Expo or Park tickets or other such discounts so we don't address this topic.
