Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse Highlights have been announced!

D23 has announced some of the highlights coming to D23’s Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse being held November 17–18, 2018, at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Below is the list of events they are planning. Please remember these events are subject to change without notice!

  • Presenters and panelists, including Legendary Disney Animator Mark Henn, Voice Actor Bret Iwan, Disney Legend Bill Farmer, Imagineers Jason Grandt, Wyatt Winter, and Alex Wright, Animator John Pomeroy, and Walt Disney Archives Director Becky Cline—plus more to be announced.*
  • A Mouse in Shorts: Animating Mickey Through the Years—From Steamboat Willie to Get a Horse!, Mickey’s epic film career has taken him on a journey that has endeared him to fans around the world. Join Disney animators and historians as they look back at the films that defined Mickey’s career, and peek behind-the-scenes of some of his most famous roles.
  • Catching Up with Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway— Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2019, the first ride-through Mickey Mouse attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, will push the limits of immersion for the Disney experience. Join members of the Walt Disney Imagineering creative team for a sneak peek of the zany twists and turns of this upcoming groundbreaking attraction!
  • Collecting Mickey, the True Original—From the first Mickey Mouse wristwatch to the collaborations of today, Mickey has always been in style. We wind the (Mickey Mouse) clock back to take a look at the toys, collectibles, and products that defined the mouse—and what his future has in store!
  • Hidden Mickeys: Uncovering the Magic of Disney Storytelling—Chronicling some of the lesser known and “lost” adventures of everyone’s favorite mouse, Disney historians will guide guests through an exploration of rarely seen and unusual Mickey projects—including a few that never jumped off the page!
  • Weird Disney: The Early Mickey Years—Fan-favorite “Weird Disney” returns with an all-new show, as the Walt Disney Archives reveals some of the wildest and wackiest Mickey moments, merchandise, and more! Included is a deep dive into Mickey’s past, featuring some of the most unique appearances, depictions, and pop-culture influences of our favorite mouse during Mickey’s runaway success in the 1930’s.
  • Additionally, the weekend will feature exciting events, such as Mickey’s Animation Academy, where guests will learn to draw from master Disney animator Mark Henn, and 4 Artists Paint 1 Mouse, where four Disney artists embark upon an “Adventure in Art,” each interpreting Mickey in their individual style—live on stage!
  • Mickey’s Movie Night—To wrap up a great weekend and celebrate Mickey’s birthday on the evening of Sunday, November 18, we’re throwing the ultimate Mickey movie pajama party— including a visit by Mickey himself! Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Mickey Mouse pajamas, grab a treat, sit back, and watch some of Mickey’s most iconic and rarest footage from the past 90 years!

Destination D Event Information Announced!



D23 has just announced ticket pricing and sales information for Destination D which will be held November 17–18, 2018, at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World Resort. This year's D23’s Destination D is Celebrating Mickey Mouse. This event is available to D23 Gold and Gold Family Members. The event will feature a pop-up Mickey’s of Glendale shopping experience full of exclusive Walt Disney Imagineering merchandise as well as limited-edition pins, apparel, and collectibles themed to the event. For the first time every there will be a Mickey Marketplace which will will be exclusively available to Destination D attendees, a handful of retailers will offer limited Mickey-branded products.The Walt Disney Archives will have a special exhibit celebrating Mickey Mouse.
Check-in will start on Friday, November 16 with optional early check-in. Saturday and Sunday will feature special presentations about Mickey Mouse with Disney historians, cast members, Imagineers, and artists hosting panels. Presenters and panelists, including Legendary Disney Animator Mark Henn, Voice Actor Bret Iwan, Disney Legend Bill Farmer, Imagineers Jason Grandt, Wyatt Winter, and Alex Wright, Animator John Pomeroy, and Walt Disney Archives Director Becky Cline—plus more to be announced.All ticketed guests will receive access to the following D23-exclusive experiences:
  • Guaranteed seats at all panels and presentations in the Fantasia Ballroom
  • D23-exclusive Mickey’s Movie Night in honor of his 90th birthday on Sunday evening
  • Access to Destination D-exclusive Mickey’s of Glendale pop-up shop
  • Access to a handful exclusive retail shops in the Mickey Marketplace

Tickets will go on sale on April 12, 2018 on the D23 website.
  • Gold and Gold Family Members: $215 per person (plus $7 processing fee) -Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, April 12, at 11 a.m. PT. (2 p.m. ET).
  • In addition, a limited number of Mouseketeer VIP tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Mouseketeer VIP Level: $1,300 per person (plus $7 processing fee)- Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, April 12, at 10 a.m. PT. (1 p.m. ET). VIP guests will receive the above listed benefits, in addition to the following: 
    • Exclusive VIP dinner on Friday, November 16, inspired by Mickey Mouse
    • Exclusive Mickey Birthday Breakfast with Disney luminary meet & greet at Disney’s Contemporary Resort the morning of his 90th birthday, November 18

Notes/Terms from D23:
  • D23 Gold Members may reserve a ticket for themselves and one (1) guest; D23 Gold Family Members may reserve tickets for themselves and up to three (3) guests. D23 Gold and Gold Family Members may reserve a ticket for themselves and one (1) guest for the Mouseketeer VIP tickets. D23 Members will be required to provide their membership number when reserving tickets. 
  • Tickets may be picked up only with a valid photo ID AND ACTIVE D23 MEMBERSHIP CARD. D23 Members who do not bring their membership card or who’s membership has expired may not be admitted to the event. Ticketed members who do not attend the event forfeit their place as well as all experiences, benefits, and gifts associated with the event.
  • All guests without active room reservations at Disney’s Contemporary Resort must park at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and take the Monorail service to the event.

2019 D23 Expo Dates Are Out!

D23 has just announced that the 2019 D23 Expo will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center the weekend of August 23–25 2019. The D23 Expo brings the worlds of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars together under one roof for a weekend of exciting fan fun!The 2019 Expo will include more than 50 shows, presentations, and panels, including the Disney Legends Ceremony, a new Walt Disney Archives exhibit, the Mousequerade costume contest, D23 Expo Design Challenge and the daily parade down the show floor. Details on the Design Challenge and Mousequerade will be released later. All of the popular presentation venues will return, including Hall D23, the Expo Arena, Stage 28, and Center Stage. Guests will also be able to shop for D23 Expo-exclusive collectibles and more.

Tickets for D23 Expo 2019 will go on sale at D23expo.com beginning August 23, 2018. Special pricing on both one- and three-day tickets to the event—including an Early Bird Discount—will be exclusively available to D23 Gold Members. D23 Gold and Charter Members will also be entitled to special benefits at the 2019 Expo. D23 Gold Members will also have an opportunity to purchase the Sorcerer Package, which provides a host of special benefits and amenities. Ticket prices will be announced later this summer.

D23 Announces the Details of their 20th Anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Events

 D23 has announced the details of their upcoming Animal Kingdom 20th Anniversary events. D23 Gold and Gold Family Members will have two events to choose from.
  • 20th Anniversary FAN Celebration Pass: $20, plus a $5 per-person processing fee. Tickets on sale Monday, March 19, at 12 p.m. PT (3 p.m. EST) on the D23 website.
    • Reserved viewing for the 20th anniversary moment at the Tree of Life
    • 20th Anniversary Commemorative D23 digital photo
    • Three FastPasses at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (excluding Pandora – The World of Avatar)
    • Reserved viewing for a specified Rivers of Light performance
    • D23-exclusive gift created specifically for this event, in partnership with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts

  • VIP 20th Anniversary FAN Celebration Pass: $275, plus a $5 per-person processing fee.
    Tickets on sale Monday, March 19, at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. EST)  on the D23 website.
    • VIP Viewing for a Festival of the Lion King performance
    • Private Mix and Mingle reception in DinoLand U.S.A.
    • Behind-the-Scenes Dinner inside the Festival of the Lion King theater
    • Additional D23-exclusive commemorative keepsake
    • PLUS, during this commemorative day, Disney’s Animal Kingdom special guests will stop by to help us celebrate.
Both events will be held on the Park's Official 20th Anniversary (which is Earth Day or April 22 for those that don't know. Check-in will be held from 8:45-9:4 at the Rainforest Cafe entrance at Disney's Animal Kingdom. This event is for Gold and Gold Family members. Members will have to present a valid D23 Membership Card and photo ID. Gold and Gold Family members may buy a ticket for themselves and one guest for either event. Attendees of the FAN celebration must be at last 3 years old, and 12 years old to participate in the VIP event. This event does require admission to the park which is not included in the event's ticket price.

D23 Has Released Ticket and Event Information On the May Return To Marceline Event!

On May 25, D23 Gold and Gold Family Members can attend D23's "Return to Marceline" event. This D23-exclusive day trip will take D23 members on an approximately 100-mile long trip from Kansas City MO to Marceline. This adventure will start at The Elms Hotel & Spa where guests will check-in to the tour on May 24 from 4-7pm. On the morning of May 25 guests will gather to enjoy breakfast at The Elms Hotel & Spa and then board the D23 provided transportation which will take them to Marceline. On the way to Marceline, Disney Archives Director Becky Cline and Disney Author Jeff Kurtti will share stories about Walt Disney with guests.
Upon arrival in Marceline guests will visit Ripley Park for a special D23 ceremony of the restored children's Midget Autopia ride from Disneyland that Walt and Roy donated to the city in 1966. Additional stops will include a tour of the Walt Disney Hometown Museum, the Marceline Post Office which in 1968 was the location for the the issuance of US Postage stamp that was created in Walt's honor. There will also be stops at the Walt Disney's Family Farmhouse for a private tour and a visit to Walt Disney Elementary to see Disney Legend Bob Moore's murals. A picnic lunch and BBQ dinner reception will be included in the day's events. Guests will receive a custom event keepsake and a copy of Jeff Kirtti's book "Travels with Walt Disney: A Photographic Voyage Around the World." After dinner the tour will return to The Elms Hotel & Spa around 10:30pm.

Tickets for this event will go on sale March 20, 2018 at 1pm ET and will be $275 per person, plus a $5 processing fee, on the D23 website. Guests must be at last 15 years old to attend this special D23 Gold Member event. D23 Gold Members may reserve a ticket for themselves and one guest, and D23 Gold Family may reserve a ticket for themselves and up to three guests. A valid D23 Gold or Gold Family Membership card and valid photo ID will be required at check-in. Transportation costs to and from guests homes to Kansas City are not included in ticket prices. Hotel accommodations are not included in event pricing and guests are not required to stay at The Elms Hotel & Spa. Guests will be required to walk between some tour locations. Dining restrictions will need to be communicated to D23's Guest Services team.

D23 Announces First Ever D23 Gold Family Member Walt Disney Studios Tours

D23 has just announced their first ever D23 Gold Family Member Walt Disney Studios Tours, which will be held April 7, 2018 at 9 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. While on the tour guests will visit the original Animation building, Disney Legends Plaza, the Walt Disney Archives and Walt Disney's office suite and will be able to shop at the Disney Studio Store. Guests will also be able to shop at the Disney Studio Store.

Tickets for this event will go on sale March 15, 2018 at 10 AM PT on the D23 website. Tickets will be $300 plus a $5 processing fee for a Gold Family 4-Pack. Guests must be 10 years of age or older to participate in this tour. Guests must be 10 years old or older to take part in this tour. Check-in for each tour will start 30 minutes before your designated tour at the Hyperion Bungalow. D23 Members will need their Member ID number to reserve their spot for the tour, and will then need to present their D23 Gold Family Membership card and photo id at check in. There will be portions of the tour where members and their guests won't be allowed to film or take photos. Also guests in ECVs will have to transfer to a Archive provided wheelchair prior to entering Walt Disney's office.

Per D23 "Gold Family Membership does not guarantee an opportunity to purchase tickets for this event, as they are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. D23 Gold Family Cardholders may reserve one Family 4-pack including a ticket for themselves and three guests. Due to the popularity of this experience, D23 Gold Family Members are eligible to purchase a Family 4-pack for one Official Walt Disney Studios Tour each calendar year. Only confirmed ticketed attendees will be able to enter The Walt Disney Studios on April 7, 2018. Tickets may be picked up only with a valid photo ID AND D23 MEMBERSHIP CARD. D23 Members who do not bring their membership card may not be admitted to the event."

Details For D23’s New Sip & Stroll In Disney California Adventure Have Been Announced


D23 has released details about the first ever Sip & Stroll at Disney California Adventure. This year the D23 Gold and Gold Family Member event will be held on March 13, 2018. The event will start at 3pm PT and end around 9pm and will include a backstage kitchen tour and chef-guided Marketplace walk through with 13 different stops, a D23 Member exclusive Q&A with the the 2018 Food & Wine Festival Producer Jim Ames, and a private dessert part with VIP viewing of World of Color. Guests will also receive a $25 Disney Gift Card to use as they explore the Marketplace and an exclusive D23 gift.

Tickets for this event will be $170 per person, plus a $5 processing fee and will go on sale March 6 at 12 pm PT on the D23 website. Park admission is not included but is required to attend this event, and Annual Passholders must check their AP Block Out Dates.  D23 Gold and Gold Family Members may purchase a ticket for themselves and one guest. Participants must be 21 years of age or older and must show their D23 Membership Card and a photo ID at check in. Guests will receive a complete itinerary in their confirmation email.

D23 Members/TCM Backlot Members Can Tour Tour The Turner Studios!

On Wednesday February 14, 2018 at 10 am, D23 Gold and Gold Family who are also TCM Backlot members can tour the Turner Studio lot in Atlanta Georgia. This three hour long event will take members on a guided tour of the historic Turner campus and to see the set where they film Treasures of the Disney Vault and other TCM original productions. The tour will also include lunch and a gift commemorating this D23- and TCM Backlot-exclusive experience.

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale on the D23 website on January 31, at 1 p.m. EST and will be $195 per person, plus a $5 per-person processing fee. Check-in will begin at 9:45am, and attendees are asked to not arrive early. The event will end at 1pm. To attend you must be a current a current D23 Gold/Gold Family Member AND TCM Backlot Member that is 18 years of age of older. You will need to present a photo ID, D23 Gold Member Card, and TCM Backlot Card at check-in. Due to the very limited number of people that can be accommodates for this experience, only the current card-holding member may reserve a ticket. No guest tickets are available.

We recently started receiving a lot of questions about when tickets for this year's Destination D would go on sale and when the date for the 2019 D23 Expo would be announced. While we don't have answers to either of those questions, we did want to share some fun information with you that may give you an idea as to how D23 announces these events and their ticket and schedule releases.
Below you will find the event dates and location for all of the D23 Expos held in the U.S. and Japan as well as information on previous Destination D events. We also provided information like when tickets went on sale and when the full schedule was released if we could find confirmed information on those details from quality sources/sites.

D23 Expo – United States
All US D23 Expo’s have been held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California

      Orlando Gold D23 Members Can Celebrate The 65th Anniversary of Peter Pan

      Celebrate the 65th Anniversary of Peter Pan with a special D23 Gold Member Event screening on Saturday February 10 at 10am at the AMC Disney Springs 24. Prior to the screening guests will be able to learn how the movie was brought to life in a special presentation by Disney historian Steven Vagnini. Guests receive a free small popcorn and drink and a one of a kind gift created just for the event.
      Tickets are $25 per person (plus $5 processing fee) and will go on sale Wednesday, January 17, at 1 p.m. ET on the D23 website. D23 Gold Members may bring up to one guest, D23 Gold Family Members can bring up to three guests. The D23 Member must show their current and valid D23 Member ID card and photo id at check in. Guests can arrive at 9:15 AM to attend this event.

      D23 Gold Members Can See Peter Pan On The Walt Disney Studio Lot!



      Celebrate the 65th Anniversary of Peter Pan with a special D23 Gold Member Event screening on Saturday February 3 at 2pm at The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank California. Prior to the screening guests will be able to learn how the movie was brought to life. Guests will also receive bottled water, popcorn in a D23-collectible bucket and a one of a kind gift created just for the event. Following the event, if time permits, guests may shop at the Disney Studio Store.
      Tickets are $30 per person (plus $5 processing fee) and will go on sale Friday, January 12, at 10 a.m. PT on the D23 website. D23 Gold Members may bring up to one guest, D23 Gold Family Members can bring up to three guests. The D23 Member must show their current and valid D23 Member ID card and photo id at check in. Guests can arrive at 1PM to attend this event.
