On May 25, D23 Gold and Gold Family Members can attend D23's "Return to Marceline" event. This D23-exclusive day trip will take D23 members on an approximately 100-mile long trip from Kansas City MO to Marceline. This adventure will start at The Elms Hotel & Spa where guests will check-in to the tour on May 24 from 4-7pm. On the morning of May 25 guests will gather to enjoy breakfast at The Elms Hotel & Spa and then board the D23 provided transportation which will take them to Marceline. On the way to Marceline, Disney Archives Director Becky Cline and Disney Author Jeff Kurtti will share stories about Walt Disney with guests.
Upon arrival in Marceline guests will visit Ripley Park for a special D23 ceremony of the restored children's Midget Autopia ride from Disneyland that Walt and Roy donated to the city in 1966. Additional stops will include a tour of the Walt Disney Hometown Museum, the Marceline Post Office which in 1968 was the location for the the issuance of US Postage stamp that was created in Walt's honor. There will also be stops at the Walt Disney's Family Farmhouse for a private tour and a visit to Walt Disney Elementary to see Disney Legend Bob Moore's murals. A picnic lunch and BBQ dinner reception will be included in the day's events. Guests will receive a custom event keepsake and a copy of Jeff Kirtti's book "Travels with Walt Disney: A Photographic Voyage Around the World." After dinner the tour will return to The Elms Hotel & Spa around 10:30pm.
Tickets for this event will go on sale March 20, 2018 at 1pm ET and will be $275 per person, plus a $5 processing fee, on the D23 website. Guests must be at last 15 years old to attend this special D23 Gold Member event. D23 Gold Members may reserve a ticket for themselves and one guest, and D23 Gold Family may reserve a ticket for themselves and up to three guests. A valid D23 Gold or Gold Family Membership card and valid photo ID will be required at check-in. Transportation costs to and from guests homes to Kansas City are not included in ticket prices. Hotel accommodations are not included in event pricing and guests are not required to stay at The Elms Hotel & Spa. Guests will be required to walk between some tour locations. Dining restrictions will need to be communicated to D23's Guest Services team.
